True Diversity UHF cardioid dual wireless microphone system with receiver – Mac Mah
The Mac Mah UHF 2000 M is a professional UHF wireless microphone system designed to provide sound for two speakers, singers or presenters simultaneously. Comprising two dynamic cardioid handheld microphones and a dual-channel True Diversity receiver, it provides a complete solution for concerts, conferences, ceremonies, entertainment events, DJ sets and professional events.
Thanks to its True Diversity technology, the receiver utilises multiple reception channels to select the most reliable signal and minimise the risk of dropouts during use. The system operates across a UHF frequency range of 640 to 690 MHz, with a bandwidth of 50 MHz, allowing the frequencies used to be adapted to the performance environment.
To simplify setup, the UHF 2000 M features an automatic frequency scan, allowing you to quickly find an available frequency. Once a frequency has been selected, IR (infrared) synchronisation simplifies the pairing of each microphone with the receiver. This combination enables rapid set-up, which is particularly useful for mobile performances or when changing venues frequently.
Both handheld microphones are fitted with interchangeable cardioid dynamic capsules. This polar pattern prioritises sounds coming from the front of the microphone whilst reducing the pickup of ambient noise and sounds from behind. The capsules are also compatible with certain Shure SM58 and Beta 58-type heads, allowing the system to be adapted to the user’s preferences.
With a frequency response of 80 Hz to 16 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 96 dB and a total harmonic distortion of 0.1 per cent, the system is designed to ensure clear and intelligible vocal reproduction. The transmission power of each microphone can be adjusted from 10 to 30 mW depending on the requirements of the performance.
The Mac Mah UHF 2000 M offers an average range of up to approximately 80 metres under favourable operating conditions, giving speakers great freedom of movement on stage or within an event venue. Each microphone runs on 2 AA batteries and offers an average battery life of between 6 and 10 hours.
The microphones also feature an automatic mute function which cuts the signal when they are laid flat. This function helps to minimise background noise when a microphone is temporarily not in use. A built-in LCD screen displays the selected frequency and battery level, making it easy to monitor the system during a performance.
The dual-channel receiver features front-panel volume controls, XLR audio outputs and a 6.35 mm Mix jack output. It can therefore be easily connected to a mixing desk, a powered speaker or a professional sound system. Its 16-bit digital encoding with Pilot ID technology also helps to secure the link between the transmitters and the receiver.
The set is supplied in an aluminium carry case containing the two handheld microphones, the dual-channel receiver, four AA batteries, a 6.35 mm jack cable, the mains adaptor and a rack-mount kit with front-panel antenna ports. The system can therefore be used as a portable solution or integrated directly into a control room or professional rack.
