True Diversity cardioid UHF wireless microphone with receiver – Mac Mah

The Mac Mah UHF 1000 M is a professional UHF wireless microphone system designed to ensure stable transmission and clear vocal reproduction at concerts, conferences, ceremonies, entertainment events, DJ sets and professional events. The kit includes a dynamic cardioid handheld microphone and a UHF True Diversity receiver, all supplied in an aluminium carry case.

Thanks to its True Diversity technology, the receiver constantly selects the best available signal to minimise dropouts and interference during use. The system operates across a frequency range of 640 to 690 MHz, with a bandwidth of 50 MHz, allowing you to select a frequency suited to the performance environment.

To simplify setup, the UHF 1000 M features an automatic frequency scan function, allowing you to quickly find an available frequency. Once a frequency has been selected, infrared (IR) synchronisation facilitates pairing between the microphone and the receiver. This combination enables rapid set-up, which is particularly useful for event installations.

The microphone is fitted with an interchangeable dynamic cardioid capsule. Its directional pattern prioritises the voice in front of the microphone whilst reducing the pickup of sounds from behind, which helps to minimise ambient noise and the risk of feedback. The capsule can also be replaced with certain compatible heads to adapt the microphone to the user’s preferences.

The system offers a frequency response of 80 Hz to 16 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 96 dB and a specified harmonic distortion of just 0.1 per cent. The microphone’s transmission power can be adjusted from 10 to 30 mW depending on requirements and the venue layout.

With an average range of up to approximately 80 metres under favourable conditions, the UHF 1000 M offers great freedom of movement on stage or in a hall. Its average battery life of between 6 and 10 hours allows for long performances without frequent battery changes. The microphone operates on 2 x 1.5 V AA batteries, which are supplied.

An automatic mute function cuts the signal when the microphone is laid flat, helping to minimise unwanted noise when it is temporarily not in use. The LCD screen displays the selected frequency and the transmitter’s battery level to make it easier to monitor during a performance.

The receiver features a volume control accessible directly on the front panel, as well as XLR and 6.35 mm jack audio outputs, allowing it to be easily connected to a mixing desk, a powered speaker or a PA system. Both the microphone and the receiver feature an aluminium construction designed to withstand the rigours of regular use and transport.

The system is supplied in a comprehensive aluminium case containing the microphone, the receiver, 2 AA batteries, a 6.35 mm jack cable, the mains adaptor and a rack-mount kit with front-panel antenna ports. The UHF 1000 M can therefore be used as a portable system or integrated into a professional rack.
